The telegraph service established by Mr. Gonzalez, our new fellow resident, is noteworthy in every respect. The most significant events occurring across the European continent, alongside the principal market prices for wheat, flour, barley, oil, minerals, and so forth, are transmitted to the Agency by its active correspondents, as are the quotations of public securities on the Madrid Stock Exchange. Today, Huelva possesses a private telegraph service as well-equipped as any to be found in provinces of greater prominence than our own. We are confident that the aforementioned service will enjoy public favor, and that Mr. Gonzalez will expand it in accordance with any suggestions he may receive to that end.
