The Insurrection in Cuba

(Reuters Telegram) Madrid, March 8. The battalion formed in Madrid for strengthening the garrison of Cuba left here to-day for Cadiz, where it will embark for Havana. The troops previously marched past the Palace, the Queen Regent watching them from the windows, and were then reviewed on the Prado. Great enthusiasm was displayed by the people, who were assembled in large numbers in the streets, and particularly in front of the Chamber, where the deputies cheered the soldiers. In the Senate to-day Marshal Campos congratulated the Government on the activity which had been displayed in the despatch of reinforcements for the troops in Cuba. All danger was now past, but a considerable force was necessary to maintain order. He urged that the Separatist leaders should be proceeded against with the utmost severity. Concluding, he declared that the work of political reform must be carried out with all possible despatch
