Provisional Race Program at The Recreation Club Velodrome

On the occasion of the Centenary, velocipede races will be held on the 5th and 6th of October at the Velodrome—At half-past two in the afternoon.—Total prizes valued at 6,000 reales.—Registration 10 reales.

October 5th

Parade of all riders. 1st Race: PREPARATORY.—Distance: three laps.—Scratch.—Reserved for Club amateurs; for those who have never raced in the Velodrome.—Two prizes: Two objects of art. 2nd Race: NATIONAL.—Distance: six laps.—Scratch.—Open to all Spanish amateurs. (Those racing with pneumatic machines will concede a 150-meter advantage to those racing with iron machines). Prizes: 1st Object of art, prize of the Most Excellent Town Council of Huelva; 2nd Club silver medal. 3rd Race: SPEED.—Distance: one lap.—Scratch.—Open to all. Pneumatic machines are not permitted in this race. Three prizes: 1st Object of art; 2nd Club silver medal; 3rd Club bronze medal. 4th Race: SPAIN.—Distance: ten laps.—Open to all.—If four riders from other provinces register, ordinary machines may take part with a 250-meter advantage. Two prizes: 1st Club Great Gold Medal; 2nd Object of art. 5th Race: ONUBENSE.—Reserved for Club amateurs. (All classes of machines).—Distance: six laps. Three prizes: 1st Object of art; 2nd Club gold medal; 3rd Club silver medal. 6th Race: OBSTACLES.—Distance: two laps, leaving the obstacles in the first lap.—Two prizes: 1st Object of art; 2nd Club silver medal. October 6th

Parade of all riders. 1st Race: ANDALUSIA.—Distance: Four laps.—Open to all Andalusian velocipedists.—Those racing on pneumatic machines will give a 150-meter advantage to the iron ones.—Three prizes: 1st Object of art from Messrs. Thomas Morrison and company; 2nd Club silver medal; 3rd Club bronze medal. 2nd Race: SPEED.—Distance: Two laps.—Scratch.—Open for pneumatic machines.—Two prizes: 1st Club gold medal; 2nd Club bronze medal. 3rd Race: HUELVA.—Distance: Three laps.—Scratch.—Pneumatic machines are not permitted.—Two prizes: 1st Object of art; 2nd Object of art. 4th Race: COMPETITION.—Distance: Eight laps.—Scratch.—For all classes of machines.—Two prizes: 1st A magnificent object of art, beautiful, brilliant and rich; prize of honour from the Most Excellent Town Council of Huelva; 2nd Club silver medal. 5th Race: COLON.—Distance: Seven laps.—Handicap.—For Club members.—Three prizes: 1st Object of art, a gift from the distinguished Club member Mr. Guillermo Sundheim; 2nd Club silver medal; 3rd Club bronze medal. 6th Race: RIBBON COMPETITION, presided over by the Ladies’ Committee.—A prize to the one who obtains the most ribbons in the run. Distribution of prizes.

As a souvenir of the Centenary, a Club bronze medal will be presented to the riders who have not won a prize in the races.

NOTICES.—There will be Judges, a Jury, and a Club commission for handicaps and to arrange the details of the races. The Club reserves the right to change any detail of the programme. Registration: Gentlemen wishing to take part in these races must present their registration as soon as possible in order to print their names in the hand-programmes. Attire: The customary dress. Grandstand: The Club has no more than 200 seats in the Grandstand, and admission will not be permitted except upon presentation of a special invitation ticket, or else the Centenary ticket or the blue and white badge. Club Pavilion: Admission to the same will not be permitted to any member who does not present his Centenary ticket or the blue and white badge. The Club requests all persons witnessing the races to observe the most perfect order to contribute to their greatest success. In the centre of the velodrome, none shall be permitted except the gentlemen of the Jury, Judges, Handicappers, and the riders.
