At four o’clock yesterday afternoon, a spirited match took place between the Huelva Recreation Club and the Seville Football Club on the grounds in front of the Huelva Gas Factory.
The game was keenly contested, with both teams demonstrating vigour, resolve, and admirable sportsmanship. Huelva succeeded in securing two goals to Seville’s one, thereby claiming a well-earned victory before an enthusiastic gathering of spectators.
At eight o’clock in the evening, a banquet of distinction was held in the celebration hall of the Hotel Colón. The occasion was presided over by Mr. Adam, who brought the meal to a close with a loyal toast to the Royal Families of Spain and Great Britain, which was received with warm applause.
As is customary on such occasions, several gentlemen favoured the company with performances on the pianoforte, while others offered songs and airs, thereby providing delightful entertainment for the visiting members of the Seville Club, in whose honour the evening was arranged.
